Privacy Policy

We respect and protect your personal information. This policy explains how WannaBuy handles data related to accounts, lists, images, purchases, diagnostics, backups, and third-party services.

Version: v1.2

The Chinese and English pages present the same version of this Privacy Policy.

1. Scope and Contact

This Privacy Policy applies to the WannaBuy iOS app and the buy.saien.pro website. WannaBuy provides shopping-list, item-recognition, membership-benefit, and backup tools.

If you have questions about personal information, account deletion, or your data rights, contact us at ezsenfy@gmail.com.

2. Types of Data We Process

Account information: When you register or sign in with Apple ID or email, we process a user ID, sign-in method, email address, display name, necessary authentication status, or identity identifiers returned by Apple.

List and item content: This may include list names, item names, quantities, prices, notes, tags, reminder times, purchase status, item links, image references, and purchase-place names, addresses, and coordinates that you create.

Images and parsed content: When you choose to use camera recognition, photo-library recognition, OCR or QR-code recognition for your screenshots, or shared-text parsing, the app may process images or screenshots you select, clipboard text, link text, and parsing results. The app does not automatically load third-party shopping pages to scrape product images or page metadata.

Purchase and membership information: We process product IDs, subscription or one-time-purchase status, benefit status, transaction environment, expiration time, and restore-purchase results. We do not receive or store payment credentials such as your card number or Apple ID payment password.

Device, diagnostic, and usage information: To provide the service, troubleshoot problems, and improve the experience, we may process the app version, platform, operating-system version, device model, crash information, error stacks, basic event statistics, and feature status.

Backup information: When you choose to use iCloud backup, the backup file includes your local lists, items, tags, image references, and related metadata, and is managed through your iCloud account.

3. System Permissions

Camera: Used to scan barcodes, photograph items or screenshots, and perform item recognition.

Photos and photo library: Used to select images for items, recognize image content, or save share cards to your photo library.

Location: Used when you select a purchase place for an item, locate nearby places on a map, or open the system map for directions. WannaBuy does not continuously track your location in the background.

Notifications: Used for local reminders, background-analysis completion notices, and other notifications related to features you choose to use.

iCloud: Used when you choose to create, view, restore, or delete an iCloud backup.

Apple ID: Used for account sign-in, account linking, and identity reconfirmation when you delete your account.

4. How We Use Data

Core features: To create and manage shopping lists, item images, reminders, purchase places, frequently purchased items, search, and local data.

Account and membership features: To sign you in, synchronize membership benefits, validate purchase status, restore purchases, process redemption codes, apply usage limits, and delete accounts.

Online recognition and parsing: To send images, screenshots, or shared text that you choose to submit to WannaBuy services and return results such as item name, price, platform, and description.

Security and troubleshooting: To identify errors, crashes, unusual requests, purchase-synchronization failures, account-deletion status, and service-availability problems.

Product analytics: To measure feature usage and help evaluate quality and stability. We do not use this data for third-party advertising tracking.

5. Third-Party Services

Account and data services: Used for account authentication, session management, user profiles, membership status, account-deletion requests, and necessary data storage.

Apple: Used for Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, subscription management, refunds, and iCloud backup. Apple processes data under its own policies.

Subscription and purchase services: Used for subscriptions, one-time purchases, benefit status, purchase restoration, and purchase-event synchronization.

Crash and error diagnostic services: Used to investigate crashes, errors, and service outages. Error context may include the device, system, version, and necessary feature status.

Product analytics services: Used to measure feature entry points, recognition results, settings changes, and app lifecycle events to help improve product quality.

Recognition and parsing services: Used to process image, screenshot, and text-parsing requests that you choose to submit.

6. Data Storage, Synchronization, and Retention

Local data is stored on your device by default, including the local database, image files, preferences, and sign-in session.

When you sign in and use membership, purchase synchronization, account deletion, usage limits, or online recognition, related account, usage, membership, and request records are sent to WannaBuy services.

When you choose to enable iCloud backup, backup files are written to your iCloud container, and recent backups are kept according to the app’s backup-retention policy. You can also manage related data in the app or your system iCloud settings.

Server logs and diagnostic data are retained for the period needed for security, troubleshooting, auditing, and service stability. We try to minimize sensitive content in logs.

7. Account Deletion and Data Rights

You can start deletion in the app under Profile > Account card > Delete Account. Account deletion includes a 7-day cooling-off period. During that period, the account is deactivated and you can cancel deletion in the app.

After the cooling-off period, we delete the account and personal data associated with it on our servers unless the law requires continued retention. You may need to separately delete local data on your device and backups you manage in iCloud through your device or iCloud settings.

If you sign in with Apple ID, deletion requires you to reconfirm your identity and removes the association between WannaBuy and that Apple ID sign-in authorization.

If you have an auto-renewing subscription, deleting your account does not automatically cancel the Apple-managed subscription. You must cancel it in Apple ID subscription management or request a refund from Apple.

You may also contact us at ezsenfy@gmail.com to request access, correction, deletion, or an explanation of data processing related to your account.

8. Security Measures

We use measures such as HTTPS, controlled service credentials, database permissions, and minimized logging to protect data. No system can guarantee absolute security, but we continue to address known risks.

Please protect your device, Apple ID, and sign-in credentials. You are responsible for managing access to data that you choose to share, export, or back up to your personal account.

9. Minors

WannaBuy is intended for general shopping-list use and is not designed specifically for children. If you are a minor, use it with guidance from a parent or guardian.

10. Policy Updates

We may update this policy based on changes to the product, services, third-party providers, or legal requirements. The updated version will be published on this page and identified by the date shown here.
